Short Biography

Dr. Tharp graduated with Honors from Fitzgerald High School in 1997 and then attended the University of Georgia where she graduated in 2001 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. Dr. Tharp attended medical school at the Mercer University School of Medicine and completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Tharp underwent additional specialty training when she completed the rigorous, year-long Hand and Microvascular Fellowship program at the University of Miami in Florida. She joined Optim Orthopedics in 2014 which later became Orthopedic Surgeons of Georgia in 2016. Dr. Tharp is a vital part of the medical staff of Orthopedic Surgeons of Georgia focusing on hand, wrist, and elbow. Her specialties include:
