Douglas, GA – October 23, 2024 – Coffee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) proudly announces the retirement of Anthony “Virg” Moore, a dedicated Paramedic who has served the community for an impressive 46 years. Virg’s career began in 1978 when he joined CRMC as an ambulance driver while attending LPN school. Discovering a passion for emergency medical services, he quickly enrolled in EMT training, completing the program in 1979, and went on to earn his Paramedic certification in 1980. From there, the rest was history.
Affectionately known as “Virg” by his colleagues and the community, Moore has held many roles during his time with Coffee Regional EMS, including serving as Director from 1990 to 1992. He has also been an instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), working closely with CRMC’s education department to train and mentor others in emergency care.
Throughout his decades of service, Virg has been a steadfast and compassionate presence, providing professional care and personal service to countless residents and visitors of Coffee County. As he steps into retirement, his legacy of dedication, expertise, and kindness will be felt for years to come.
