Coffee Regional makes Georgia Trend’s Top Small Hospitals list for second year

The December issue of Georgia Trend magazine has again named Coffee Regional Medical Center one of Georgia’s Top Small Hospitals 2013.  Their listings included facilities throughout the state, divided into five separate categories, with Coffee Regional being in the Small Hospital (fewer than 150 beds) category.

 The Information used to compile Coffee Regional’s ranking relied on publicly available information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and is available online at Areas of data collection center around quality of care, patient satisfaction, mortality and readmissions statistics and data on hospital-acquired infections and conditions.  To come up with the rankings, Georgia Trend worked with the researchers and healthcare professionals at WellStar Health System in Marietta.  The WellStar team accessed the databases and compiled the data mathematically; decisions on how to present the date were made by Georgia Trend.

This recognition comes on the heels of recently being designated by The Joint Commission as one of only 35 hospitals in Georgia earning the distinction of Top Performer on Key Quality measures for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance.  CRMC was recognized for exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that area shown to improve care for certain conditions, including heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care.
