General Surgery

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Whether in our comfortable ambulatory surgery unit or one of our five fully equipped operating rooms, CRMC surgeons provide more than 4,000 surgical procedures each year, including those for general surgery, ENT, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, and urology. The skill and technology are cutting edge; the service is personal and caring.

Ambulatory surgery. More than 80 percent of surgeries at CRMC are performed on an ambulatory or outpatient basis, meaning the patient is able to go home the same day.  The 11-bed outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) provides a private room for each patient for use before and after the procedure. (Patients who have received anesthesia or sedation cannot legally drive and must have a competent adult to accompany them home.)

Operating suites. The five inpatient operating rooms are equipped with the latest technology, making possible a wide variety of specialized surgery, including minimally invasive surgeries involving laparoscopes, operating microscopes, and advanced video technology that allow surgeons to perform surgery without large incisions. CRMC’s skilled staff of registered nurses and certified surgical technicians work as a well-coordinated team with surgeons and anesthesia providers.
